It’s hard not to make comparisons between certain Russian vehicles and the Packards that, er, inspired them, and for his article in SIA #153, May 1996, Bill Schwartzberg ran down all the ways in which the circa 1960s Chaika M-13 four-door convertible (phaeton?) that he came across stacked up against the 1955-1956 Packard, from which the Chaika borrowed at least some styling cues. Spoiler alert: You’re probably not going to want to go out and buy a Chaika after his assessment.
